$2.50 Used Hardcover

Travis Parker has every thing a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina.
In full pursuit of the good life-boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his close buddies-he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly; the attractive redhead seems to have a grudge against him...and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn't help.

Save Money on Laundry Detergent

Recipe for making your own laundry detergent:

4 cups of water, 1/3 bar of cheap soap, grated, 1/2 cup of washing soda (not baking soda), 1/2 cup Borax (20 mule team), 5-gallon bucket, 3 gallons water
Mix grated soap in sauce pan with 4 C water until soap is dissolved, add mixture to 3 gallons of water in 5-gal. Bucket, stir in washing soda and Borax, stir until thickened, let set 24 hrs.
Cost per load 2 cents, store bought detergent is 20 cents per load or higher.
Studies say that you don’t need soap at all, just use water in your washing machine. At least you can try using 1/2 the detergent you usually do and see if that cleans your clothes just as well.

For full instructions see http://zenhabits.net/2007/06/a-guide-to-cultivating-compassion-in-your-life-with-7-practices/

Greet each morning with a ritual reminding yourself of your good fortunes.

Practice empathy for your fellow human beings.

Commonalities practice– instead of recognizing difference between yourself & others, recognize what you have in common.

Relief of Suffering-open your heart to someone you know that is suffering.

Act of Kindness-do something tiny each day to help another, a smile or kind word.

Those who mistreat us– instead of acting in anger try to understand the background of that person to understand why they act the way that they do.

Evening routine– spend some time reflecting on your day and how you treated others.
