Five Tips for Stretching Your Dollar

Save Money on Lunches-bring your lunch to work, eat left-overs. If you bring your lunch one day per week you can save $250-$1000 per year.
Buy Staple products on sale-the items you buy each week try buying in bulk and when they are on sale. You will save money buying in bulk and this will save trips to the store.

Snack Smart– bring your snacks instead of buying from the vending machines. Buy your pop & snacks in bulk.

Save on Entertainment– next time you plan a night out with your friends try having a pot luck dinner at your place. It will probably be more fun and everyone will save in the process.

Save on Utilities– Be frugal about your electric use, check out the competition for the best phone service and cable. Stay home and watch movies off the movie channel instead of going out to the movie theater or renting movies.

Beware of online scams

Ebay Scam - You get an email that says that a customer didn't receive their product. They want you to click and respond to the customer. DON'T RESPOND. Many times these emails want to get your log-in and password. If you get an email that CLAIMS to be from Ebay (or Paypal, etc.) GO TO YOUR ACCOUNT and see if it's really there.Paypal scam - You put an ad in craigslist or backpage.com selling an item. Someone tells you that they want your item but can't pay cash. They can send you a Paypal payment and require you to send the item AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR email, allegedly from Paypal. What you will then receive is an email from "PayPal" saying that the person that sent the money has been approved but the money won't clear until you send your item. IT'S A SCAM. Always verify your ACCOUNT to see if monies are there..

Helping Friends and Neighbors

The Holidays are upon us, this is the time of year friends and neighbors may be in need. If you are able, consider donating your no longer needed household items, clothing, food to Goodwill or area food banks. If you know of families hit hard by the economy and you can afford to do so, consider offering financial help so they can enjoy a turkey dinner or have a gift under the tree for their children.
